TechLead ("we", "our", or "us") built the Office Reader app as a Free app. This page is used
to inform visitors regarding our policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of
Personal Information.
🛡️ Your privacy matters. Office Reader processes all documents locally
on your device. We do not upload, store, or have access to your files.
👤 Account is entirely optional. You can use all core features of Office Reader — including document viewing, PDF tools, scanning, and file management — without creating an account. Account registration (Sign Up / Login) is only needed if you want optional features like profile, leaderboard, and stats sync across devices.
Information We Collect
We collect minimal data to improve app performance and stability:
- Account information (optional): If you choose to create an account (Sign Up), we
collect your email, display name, and optional profile photo. This data is stored on
Supabase for sign-in, profile sync, and features like leaderboard. Account creation is
entirely optional — all core features (document viewing, PDF tools, scanning, file management) work fully without an account. You only need an account for optional social features (profile, leaderboard, stats sync).
- Analytics data: Anonymous usage statistics such as which features are
used, screen views, and app interactions (via Firebase Analytics)
- Crash reports: Technical crash data including device model, OS version,
and stack traces to fix bugs (via Firebase Crashlytics)
- Device identifiers: Anonymous device IDs for analytics and push
notification delivery (via Firebase Cloud Messaging)
Information We Do NOT Collect
- ❌ Your documents, files, or their contents
- ❌ Personal information — unless you voluntarily create an optional account (then we collect email, name, avatar)
- ❌ Location data
- ❌ Contacts or call logs
- ❌ Browsing history
- ❌ Financial information
Permissions
Office Reader requests the following permissions:
- Storage Access: To scan, open, and manage documents on your device.
Files are processed entirely on-device and never uploaded.
- Camera: For the document scanner feature. Photos are processed locally
and saved only to your device storage.
- Internet: For Google Drive integration, crash reporting, analytics, and
checking for app updates.
- Notifications: To send you update notifications (opt-in on Android
13+).
Google Drive
When you connect your Google Drive account:
- We use Google's official API to access your Drive files
- Authentication is handled directly by Google Sign-In
- We only access files you explicitly choose to open
- We do not store your Google credentials
- You can disconnect your account at any time from the Settings screen
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services that may collect data:
GDPR Compliance
For users in the European Economic Area (EEA):
- We request consent before collecting analytics data using Google's User Messaging
Platform (UMP)
- You can change your consent preferences at any time
- You can request deletion of your analytics data by contacting us
Data Security
- All network connections use HTTPS encryption
- Documents are processed locally — never transmitted to our servers
- If you create an optional account, your data (email, profile) is stored on Supabase; passwords are hashed
- You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the app (Profile > Delete Account) or via our account deletion page
Your Data Rights
You have the right to manage and delete your data:
- Delete account & all data: You can permanently delete your account and all associated data (profile, stats, avatar, leaderboard progress) directly from the app (Profile → Delete Account) or via our self-service account deletion page.
- Clear local cache: You can clear cached data at any time from the app (Settings → Clear Cache) without deleting your account.
- Request partial data deletion: You have the right to request deletion of specific data without deleting your entire account by contacting us at finai.technology.vn@gmail.com.
- Data portability: You can request a copy of your personal data by contacting us.
🗑️ Data deletion is immediate and irreversible. Once you delete your account, all your data is permanently removed from our servers and cannot be recovered.
Children's Privacy
Office Reader does not target children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal
information from children. If you believe your child has provided us with personal data,
please contact us to have it removed.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with
an updated revision date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of
the updated policy.
